As a family, we grew up in an older home in
Mishawaka, that home is still in the family - a
little worse for wear after eight kids, but it still
stands. It takes someone that has lived in a
home that was built in the 1870s to truly
understand and appreciate the connection
that people have with their older homes. They
are a labor of love.
When we started updating some of the rooms
in our family home, we quickly realized that
over the years the "bones" of the house had
been chopped up and scarred by previous
owners.
Thus started our labor of love to restore the
house. It was not easy and because we
became experts along the way - out of
necessity - we have specialized in restora-
tions. And since the cobbler's children
have no shoes, we will admit that our family
home is not totally done, but it is getting there.
We have completed restoration jobs in
Mishawaka's Lincolnway East corridor as
well as restoration jobs the Park Avenue
District in South Bend along with the
Chapin Street Historical corridor.
